It's very fast and does not have a lot of useless junk stored on it. It runs a total of 12 -15 hours a week at most for the past 4-5 years. We have no editing software, etc on this computer, we use it to run PP on Friday, Saturday and Sunday services, band practice on Wednesday, maybe a funeral or 2 per month. We don't use this computer for much more than some minor word processing to import the sermon scriptures into PP. I appreciate your time and input on this. You're all up to date when you run Apple's software update? (besides updating to Yoesmite) If it does, something might be wrong with the graphics card.Д¬an you output any other way into the switcher from the iMac besides HDMI? When it freezes up do you mean it hard locks? You can't hit cmd - option - esc and force quit it? That makes me think it's some type of driver issue or possibly something with the graphics card itself.

No song lyrics or anything.ДЇreezing doesn't happen in any other programs? Say if you run a movie or something does it lock up? Might be worth testing.

Never had problems with freezing and I throw all types of stuff at it, but it's mainly for video playback of clips.

Updated every version since then and using it on Yosemite now with a 1 M/E (non 4k) switcher. I run the latest PP on my Macbook Pro all the time and I think I started it using it on OSX Lion. I guess, but what you're describing isn't exactly stable so you might as well take the chance to fiddle with stuff.
